EXTREMIST

Extremists

One of the definitions of extremists means, “The outer most” Any extremists, whether they be Christians, Atheists, or Muslims, are not a representation of the ‘real’ thing. I think people need to quit using the extremes of anything to define the actual beliefs of what they are attacking, at that particular moment. I say let the extremists of the groups go on out and make each other uncomfortable, so that the rest of us reasonable people, be they Christian, Muslim, or Atheists, can carry on with our beliefs and still respect each other.

Extremists are radical and militant. They don’t want rational discussion and dialog.  Extermists are not aiming at coming to agreement but polarization and division. They are like the angry child that is left out of something, who then decides if I can’t be the most important one, I will ruin it for everyone else.

Extremists are only out to create trouble, because they, themselves are angry and the issue they are fighting, is not necessarily what they are angry about. They need to get over their issues and then rejoin the reasonable majority of people that can dialog with others that disagree with them, in open minded, sane, meeting of individuals, who respect each others rights of personhood.

None of us can always completely understand another person, we all have different perspectives. Even the words we use to express ourselves have different meaning and associations for each individual person. It takes time to understand the perspective of another person, and to know why they make the decisions they make. We need to give each other room and let them show us what they are feeling and thinking. And if dialog doesn’t change one or the other, we still honor each other for our individual beliefs.

Honor and respect for the inalienable rights of another is a sign of a reasonable, wise person who is able to join with others in dialog, even with those who oppose them or disagree with them.

Extremism never accomplishes anything but confusion and war. It never brings about change of any value. It can’t bring another to change their views. In truth extremism is hate disguised in some supposed higher reason. Extremists are people who want their own angry way.

THE CONTINUING SAGA OF LIFE IN AMERICA

I have to say that Ferraro did not bow out gracefully for talking out of place, like Obama's surrogate did.  In apologizing she hit off another slap at Obama.  That was bad manners at the very least wouldn't you say?   Rumor has it that she has made other slanted statements where blacks are concerned.  All I want to know is, why not get on with the issues and show how your candidate is better than the other one?  Why stoop to these stupid hysterical games and then like passing notes in school, writing a letter to Hillary?  I wonder what Ferraro thought she was doing by making those remarks? What was in her mind? Did she have a plan of some kind?  Nothing like having an object lesson to prove Obama's saying we need a change in Washington.  I am so tired of tit for tat and bickering like little spoiled children  in every office and setting of government.

It seems to me that the politics of attacking your opponents with half-statements or innuendos are not going to work anymore. Anyway, I hope that is true.  People have too many sources at their fingertipsto get  the correct information for themselves. We need to call these immature ones into account,so we can get on with getting along and building a healthy, strong nation; instead of tearing it down word by silly, mean word.

What a refreshing thought.  People reduced to discussing the issues until they come to a fair and agreeable understanding and then working together to implement them.  Which of the presidential wanna-be's do you think has the most skills right now to do that?  What do I mean?  Well, which one seems the most like a level headed adult with consistency and is not easily pushed into extremes but stops and thinks about things first? And then asks, "What is best for our country'?"
